A mirror to those around
reflecting back the parts of themselves
they want to see in the person before them.
No innate personality,
a tabula rasa
that gets etched in then polished clean
over and over again.
Clay molded and unmolded
molded and unmolded
surely one day
will become overworked
and collapse.
she made the scene
drawn from a prior mean
sans culottez
self portrait most divine
a swan from corgi
oh me!
oh my!~
no need to ask why~

Mine was broken ages ago, thank God.
Nice reflection, Joy. Write on.

Intended or not, I hadn’t considered the nature/nurture debate from the perspective of someone nurturing their own image. That constant change really would take its toll. Fascinating poem!
